We have had a change of plans. THERE WILL BE NO DRIVE-IN SERVICE THIS SUNDAY. We will have our Easter service online at 10:00 AM. You can watch it here or on our FaceBook page. People raised some concerns and red flags so maybe we will do a drive-in at a later date. But here are some special BONUSES: Tomorrow there will be a Maundy Thursday sermon and on Friday there will be a Good Friday sermon. Then on Easter, we will have a full service that includes music, a dramatic video and a message.
Currently, due to the Corona Virus restrictions, we are not holding public services. But Pastor Ron Sheveland is still preaching two sermon series through video messages.
The first series is “THE BIOGRAPHY OF JESUS: A Survey of the Life of Christ.” Another sermon (or 2) in this series will be added this week, so please keep checking back.
The second series is “EVEN WHEN: Unnatural Choices that lead to Supernatural Peace.” It is based on Philippians 4. The video sermon below is the second in that series. If you missed the first one, you can go back to an earlier post.
Before you watch it, please put this on your calendar. On Easter Sunday, we will have a drive-in church service at our church campus at 10 AM. You will be able to stay in your car and listen via your FM radio. We hope to see you!
Now that you have finished listening to the sermon on rejoicing in the Lord, take a minute to sing this chorus with the kid’s choir!
Here is another lesson in our “Biography of Christ” series. This audio message is called “FINAL ARGUMENTS: The Tuesday of Passion Week.” Get in a comfortable chair, close your eyes and learn about this eventful day in the life of Christ.
PASTOR RON: Hi everyone. This sermon is for the people of Anaheim Baptist Church and for anyone else that would like to watch it. Due to the Corona Virus, we can’t meet publically so this is our virtual service. We have been doing a series on the Life of Christ and I will continue it this week, but today I would also like to start a new series called, “EVEN WHEN: The Unnatural Choices that lead to Supernatural Peace.” Taken from Philippians 4, it will help those dealing with the anxiety of our current health crisis and all other emotional hardships. So keep an eye on this page and our website for continuing messages in both series.
And let me also announce we are going to have a “Drive-In Easter Service” where you will get to stay in your cars and listen via your FM radio. So please plan on coming!
After listening to the sermon, please watch this music video.
This teaching is part of a series called the Biography of Jesus Christ. We are now down to the final week of Christ’s earthly life — passion week. This message focuses on Monday. A fig tree is cursed. A Temple is cleansed. And people are shown that judgment will fall on those that don’t come to the Light. This video sermon is being shown because the public service of Anaheim Baptist Fellowship is closed due to the Corona Virus.
Dear ABF Family,
Last Sunday we spent time as a congregation praying specifically about the Coronavirus COVID-19 crisis.* I was blessed by the sentiment of many that we continue our services during this period. I appreciate the desire to not “forsake the assembling of ourselves together” and the fact that we love the fellowship of our church family.
But this rapidly evolving situation has led the Trustees to determine that it is prudent to suspend all our services and gatherings for the present time. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and President Trump have, in their guidelines, requested that we limit all gatherings to 10 or less people. And just yesterday, Orange County banned ALL group meetings of any size. We believe we are called to submit to those governing bodies and that we have a moral obligation to help slow the spread of this disease within our community, especially to those who are most vulnerable.
So currently, it is our plan to not hold any public gathering until Easter. Currently, we still hope to hold our Easter Service with the realization that that is also iffy.
But we will continue our ministries via the internet and phone.
- On Sundays, we will continue our sermon series through the “Life of Christ.” I will place a video sermon on our Facebook page, our website (www.abf.life), and YouTube. Please tune in.
- I am also going to develop a new series that addresses the anxiety that people have during times like this. Based on lessons from Philippians 4, it is called “EVEN WHEN: Unnatural Choices that Lead to Supernatural Peace.” They will be placed periodically on the three options listed above.
- I am also going to attempt doing Zoom Room prayer meetings. You can google Zoom to learn more about this Skype-like video chat platform. If you would like to participate, send me your email and I will send you an invitation to join. From there, it is easy. You will need a camera on your computer or a ZOOM Cloud Meetings App on your phone.
- Our trustees will be calling many of our attenders to offer encouragement and prayer. If you have any specific prayer requests or needs, please tell them or me so we can provide help or guidance.
These precautions and plans are to do our best to restrict the spread of the virus. But, let’s remember that God is fully in control and that we have an opportunity to demonstrate our faith in Him through this season. We would like to urge you to be praying for all the people involved and for our local government and community leaders.
Philippians 4 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
In order to meet our financial obligations during this time, including the support of our missionaries, please continue to give faithfully and generously. You can send checks to the church or give online through the service on our website: www.abf.life.
Resting on the Promises,
Pastor Ron Sheveland

*CONCERNING CORONAVIRUS: As you may know, the Coronavirus is an emerging situation. The World Health Organization has classified COVID-19 as a pandemic. Though this is an evolving issue, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention has assured the current possibility of contracting the coronavirus is quite low, especially in comparison to normal strands of the flu. The death toll is also very low compared to those associated with diseases and sicknesses that are very common among us. Check out World Health Organization live updates here and Orange County government Public Health Care Agency updates here.
The Corona Virus Pandemic has caused anxiety for many. The potential health or economic difficulties do raise alarms. But God has you covered!

Due to those watching the Superbowl, we won’t be having a Sunday Evening Service BUT we will still have a sermon! Here is a sermon you can watch during halftime (or before or after the game). It talks about how we can be victorious in the BIG game.
In our Sunday morning series on the Life of Christ, we recently looked at Christ’s temptation in the wilderness and what it teaches us about how we can deal with temptation. Below is a video filled with helpful Scriptures. We hope it is helpful.
Under the videos tab, you can find a video on the subject of baptism. Below it is a place where you can download a longer paper. Hopefully, you will find it helpful.
